About Thermocline
Thermocline is an international marine science consulting company, based in Australia, specialising in marine sciences, from the study of the biology, ecology and population dynamics of single species, to building complex ecosystem models of entire oceans to determine fishery and climate impacts to guide resource management policy.
Thermocline's founder and Director, Dr Shane Griffiths, has over 25 years experience in marine and fisheries research. After earning his PhD in 2001, Shane worked for 14 years at the CSIRO as a Principal Senior Research Scientist before being recruited as Head of the Ecosystems Program at the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission in California where he spent 9 years working on the eastern Pacific tuna fisheries.
Thermocline's specialisation is conducting ecological assessments in data-limited settings, especially for threatened and endangered species, using the innovative EASI-Fish model developed by Dr Shane Griffiths, which has been applied to some of the largest fisheries and most critically endangered species in the world.
With over 25 years experience in marine science and fisheries research, clients of Thermocline can expect professionalism and the highest scientific standards.
